We gave one away that was still running strong at over 200k miles. So there’s plenty of life left in that one. They are good cruisers, and the Ltz should have all the goodies.

Nothing wrong with it. Nothing special either, but nothing wrong with it.

My only concern is that since it is the last of the W-bodies that date back to the late 1980s it has ergonomics of the same era. I find them uncomfortable compared to more recently designed cars.

Kinda what I was going for. Just something cheap, big, and reasonably able to rack up some miles.

To be fair, what car made in 2013 and is now this inexpensive, ISN’T made of ABS inside?

Hard plastic hell beats bus hell. A homeless man isn’t going to masterbate to a picture of horsecock while starring lovingly into your eyes in the Impala.

Assuming there isn’t a major wreck or flood in it’s history, it ought to get about 50k miles without problem. Cheap miles, ok comfort, everybody thinks you are a cop or ex rental.. Better than a Ford or Chrysler..... Whatever.

All cars made in the last 30 years are plastic inside. However you can do plastic well, or you can do it like mid 2000s GM.

The papers say 2013, but the design and materials say 2006. I know the new style Impala was new that year, might want to be sure this wasn’t a rental if that kind of thing gets to you.

I believe this was the only year of this generation that got the DOHC 3.6 (300hp) and 6 speed auto.

It looks like a nice, comfy, big sedan! Less boring than a Camry, less ugly and shitty than a Nissan... Maybe not the finest fit and finish, but it was built in the years where GM was on the cusp of giving a shit, so it could be a lot worse. The DOHC V6/6 speed is a nice setup, the LTZ package gives you all the fawnceh stuff... I’d drive it!

Setting aside my general distaste for GM, Autocheck shows it as starting life as rental (racked up 58,000 miles in its first 2.5 years). Also take note that while it went to auction this summer, it is coming from Houston so you need to be worried about whether it flooded. Before that it was listed out of NH, so I guess you want to check it for rust as well.
I have no idea what the right price for the car would be though.

I never really cared for W bodies. Just never did anything for me.
You might want to consider these instead, at that same dealer:
2009 Accord
2011 Taurus
2007 Lexus

I had one of these as a rental once and it surprised me how decent it was. I went in expecting it to be terrible, but it wasn’t. The 3.6L V6 with 300hp is smooth and torquey, the drive was smooth and quiet. Handling and interior materials were both very meh, but for a cruiser it was great. Enterprise later put me in a similar vintage Charger SXT and I missed the Impala.

Yeah, I’m really in the wrong place and time to be shopping for used cars. One of the dealers I’ve been looking at just recently got a TON of cars priced under $10k. Aaaaand I will not be shopping there now!

I rented one last year, with the 300 hp engine. Worst car I’ve ever driven (given context). Horrible seats with zero support and mandatory back ae after an hour or two, comically bad interior, lazy drive train (could’ve had 150 hp, wouldn’t have felt a difference). It felt like an oversized subcompact from 1992, interior design and build quality wise.
With decent seats it could be a decent car to cruise control along in, but that’s about it.
